FTP Server FTP Settings

To publish your web site on your web space you will need to upload your web pages from your own computer to your web space on the Web Wiz web servers. This is done via File Transfer Protocol (FTP).

To upload your files via FTP, you need to have a program running on your computer that allows you to upload your files to your web space. The program that Web Wiz Hosts recommended for this task is FlashFXP.

FTP Settings

By default when you create a website an FTP account is created for the website. The default FTP account details are below, however if you prefer you can alter the FTP account details or create a new FTP account through your websites Control Panel.

To upload your pages to the web server you will need to enter the following settings in your FTP software: -

FTP Settings

FTP Host Address ftp.domainname.com
Alternatively you can also use ftp.webwizhost.com
Login domainname.com
Password This is the same password as for your Control Panel
You can alter this in your Control Panel under 'FTP Accounts' for the domain.
Port Number 21
FTP Mode Passive

Where you see domainname.com, replace this with your own domain name of the site you want to upload your web pages to (without the 'www').

When you upload your website your web pages need to be uploaded to the 'wwwroot' folder. This is the public root of your website.

Please also read the documentation on, Understanding the File System, to fully understand where to upload your web site to.
